Men's Befriending

What's it about?
Men's Space offers support and friendship mainly for men aged over 50 years old living in the Ladywood, Edgbaston and Harborne areas.
We aim to help every man to feel connected, supported and thrive in life, supporting men who are feeling isolated and lonely, and who are keen to meet others and try new things that help to engage in their community.
Men's Space is about:
- Friendship
- Support
- Encouragement
- Fun
- Challenge
- Adventure
How can we help?
We run a range of activities that men can get involved in, providing support and encouragement, and enabling friendships to be formed that can help reduce isolation and loneliness. By meeting together, it will help our community to feel more connected and creates opportunities for men to have a sense of belonging and purpose.
“I was suffering from depression due to not getting out of the flat, but the encouragement and company has helped me build up confidence in coming out and helped me overcome certain parts of my disability."

We have four activity sessions a week and also provide one-to-one befriending. Our present activities include:
- Walking for health
- Gardening
- Table tennis club
- Coffee and chat morning
“It has given me a belief in myself, kindness and friendship, and now I feel deep in myself a better place, and it makes me feel more at peace internally .. and an inner confidence.”
